Hi, welcome to my blog! Salam UiTM di hatiku 💜 My name is Nik Nur Fatihah Binti Mohd Lazin and now currently studying at UiTM Melaka, Campus Jasin as one of Diploma Agrotechnology (AT1102B) student. I am 19 years old and living in Terengganu.
I am mainly doing this portfolio to introduce the students to our activities that we did on every Friday. FPA150 provides each student of plant propagation techniques and develop core skills in plant nursery management. In addition, It is an opportunity for the students to acquire skills in conducting activities in nursery managements as well as to acquire hands-on experience in nursery practices.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOME
- Identify type of nursey, shading, labelling and inventory plants in nursery.
- Demonstrate preparation of growing medium, propagation techniques, seed handling, root pruning and transplating the young seedling in nursery area.
- Apply method of propagation, planting and maintenance activites for operating.

After the ice-breaking, we were brought by the lecturer to see a new product of lawn machine innovation that was contested at the national level

We are moving to our Herb Plot that an area of 2 acres and got introduce to lemongrass which is scientifically known as Cymbopogon citratus
Benefits of the lemon grass plant:
- Prevent cancer
- Prevent infections
- Rids of obesity
- Reduces fever
- Reduces body odor

Our lecturer took us to the cocoa plant plot an area of 4.93 acres to learn more about the cocoa plant. The scientific name is Theobroma cacao
Interesting facts about the cocoa plant:
- It takes 3-5 years before the cocoa tree bears fruit
- Cocoa trees need to be planted next to tall trees to be protected from sunlight
- The difference between cacao and cocoa: Cacao is the bean meanwhile cocoa is the product that is made from it

We discussed our final semester project, which is to innovate in agriculture. One of my group members gave an example of innovation, which is self-watering for plants. After finishing the discussion, the lecturer told us to think in a more creative direction to build an innovative product. By 10.30 a.m., our class ended.
